The role of critical thinking in the knowledge management process

Abstract

Knowledge management and critical thinking are two broad and important phenomena for organizations and contemporary society, and the concepts related to them have been well discussed in the theoretical literature of knowledge management and critical thinking. However, the existing conceptual links between knowledge management and critical thinking have been less analyzed and the role of critical thinking in the knowledge management process has not been well explained. The purpose of this article is to fill this theoretical gap and provide conceptual connections between knowledge management and critical thinking.
Analyzing the concepts of critical thinking and knowledge management provides the possibility of identifying links in three dimensions.
1) communication (individual, group and organizational relationships in the process);
2) process (how to achieve goals);
3) Goal (the direction of the process).
