Abstract

Examining the research conducted in the field of commercialization shows a favorable quantitative growth in this field. Therefore, there is a need for a general and systematic understanding of the conducted research activities. The current research was conducted with the aim of creating a general view in the field of commercialization and helping research managers and researchers in the optimal direction of future research in this field. This research is quantitative in nature and practical in terms of purpose, and it is descriptive in terms of the type of data collection. It uses the scientometric method for data analysis. Based on this, the number of 3101 articles on the subject of commercialization, extracted from the Web of Science database from 1990 to 2022, has been used as the input data of the VOS Viewer and Excel software to map the research production process. examine and analyze knowledge, conceptual network and synonymy network of commercialization researches. Validity and convergence of input and output data are controlled by scientometric software. The findings show that the concepts of innovation, performance, governance, entrepreneurship, knowledge, industry, company, research and development, technology are the most used words in commercialization research. The similarity network of the whole vocabulary shows the concentration and intertwining and strong connection between the concepts of this field. The network of the countries that are active in this field shows that the advanced countries are the leaders in the field of commercialization research. The research areas of management, business and fossil fuels during the research period have the most researches under the title of commercialization. are The knowledge map of the field of commercialization was drawn. In line with the change of generations of universities and moving towards civilization-building universities, the commercialization of intellectual assets has entered the field of commercialization. The time trend of the research shows that commercialization research has moved from the engineering fields to the management and business fields, which means that the soft aspects of commercialization have received more attention in recent years. Also, the comparison of the research clusters related to Iran with the entire international research shows the empty place of the governance cluster in the research of Iranian origin. Therefore, the soft aspects of commercialization and governance issues are important aspects of this issue that should be considered by research policy makers and researchers.
